As a Santa Shuffle Volunteer you will receive:

  • A Santa Claus Hat or Reflective Vest to identify you on site
  • Entry into the Volunteer Prize Draw

Volunteer Positions

  1. Thursday Night Race-Kit Pickup Volunteer – 4 required
    Date/time: Thursday November 30, 4:30pm to 8 pm
    Duties: Assist with participant package pick up of registration kits, distribution of shirts and bibs, interaction with participants about the event. Some folding and lifting boxes on site.
    Location: 901 Bank Street Running Room
  2. Friday Night Registration Attendants – 4 required
    Date/time: Friday Dec. 1, 12:30 to 4:40 pm and or 4:30 pm to 8 pm
    Duties: Assist with participant package pick up of registration kits, distribution of shirts and bibs, interaction with participants about the event. Assisting with packing up on site registration for next day event.
    Location: 901 Bank Street Running Room
  3. Saturday Morning Setup Crew – Early Shift
    Date/time: 7 am only requiring 3 people
    Duties: Assist with the set up and unloading of race items. Some lifting involved. Placed onsite as a course marshal after set up is done. Report for tear down and removal of items from site.
    Location: Lansdowne Park Horticulture Building
  4. Saturday Race Kit Pickup
    Date/time: 8:30 am – to noon, requiring 4 people
    Duties: Assist with the setup of the registration desk, hand out shirts to participants and assist Salvation Army staff with registration duties as needed. Reports to start finish line after registration desk closes at 10 am.
  5. Start/Finish Line Volunteer (6 plus required)
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2 9:30
    Duties: Assists with distributing medals to participants at 10 am and 10:20 am.
    Location: Lansdowne Park Horticulture Building
  6. Saturday set up crew
    Date/time: 8:30 am – to noon, require 6 people
    Duties: Assists with the setup of and tear down of promotional items onsite, placing signs, setting up tables and chairs, assist with other duties on site. Placement around site course.
    Location: Lansdowne Park Horticulture Building
  7. On Route Course Marshals
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2, 9:30 am to noon, 16 people required
    Duties: Check in at Horticulture Building for locations with volunteer coordinator for site location. Great opportunity to work in pairs on the race route. Cheer on participants, dress warmly and standing on the route.
  8. Water Station Attendants
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2, 9:30 to noon, 4 people
    Duties: Check in to Horticulture Building for placement by volunteer coordinator at the turnaround on the route. Distribute water to participants and light cleaning of area.
  9. Retail Course Attendants
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2, 9:30 to noon, 4 people
    Duties: Assist with giving out promotional items to the public from retailers and directing participants to start finish line. Encourage participants to take pictures at selfie booth.
  10. Information Booth attendant
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2, 8:30 to noon, 2 people
    Duties: Assist with relaying information to participants about the activities and course route.
  11. Elf makeup attendants
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2, 8:30 to 10 am
    Duties: Assist with applying elf dots on noses and cheeks to willing participants.
  12. Volunteer Coordinator
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2, 8:30 to noon
    Duties: Assist with the over coordinating with Running Room Assistant to place volunteers around the course. Enjoyment working with others. Providing information to volunteers as they report for duty.
  13. Mascot attendant and handler
    Date/time: Saturday Dec. 2 9 am to noon
    Duties: Act as our mascot on this day as our ambassador at the event. Take pictures with participants. Enjoy interacting with public. Able to work with a buddy as the mascot and you can take turns as the mascot. The handler will guide the mascot onsite as they meet the public. Assisting the mascot from obstacles and assisting them in and out of the costume.
