A local group of women who call themselves “100 Women Who Care in North Grenville” has raised $3,500 for The Salvation Army in Kemptville’s food bank to help keep shelves full in support of the community.
Grace Manor staff, friends and family held an outdoor celebration on the grounds. Cars drove by and honked and bagpipe players and dancers entertained guests!
A $9300 grant from mobile network company TELUS will help support The Bethany Hope Centre’s programs for young parents and children during the COVID19 pandemic.
Givette Titcombe Volet (Gigi) loves to sew and she, along with other members of The Salvation Army in Barrhaven’s Quilting group, are using their talents to make masks and caps to support local organizations during the pandemic.
The Salvation Army’s Bethany Hope Centre is reaching out to their participants to provide comfort, food and baby items as well as continuing to offer virtual programs to help them work towards their goals.
The Belgium Ambassador in Canada Johan Verkammen and his staff are generously supporting The Salvation Army Ottawa Booth Centre clients with 100 homemade meals a week for three weeks to help lift everyone’s spirits during these difficult times.
“Outreach teams and emergency shelters are an essential service during these times in order to protect a very vulnerable population from contracting COVID-19,” said Marc Provost, Executive Director at The Salvation Army Ottawa Booth Centre.

The Salvation army in Smiths Falls food bank is open by appointment and volunteers are providing a Friday bagged lunch to anyone in need.
