Meatheads Grill in the Ottawa neighbourhood of Orleans delivered lunch meals to frontline staff at The Salvation Army Ottawa Booth Centre today to thank them for their commitment during these difficult times.
Co-Owner Jessy Brethour says he sees the love and care The Salvation Army staff put into helping their clients everyday.
“It’s not just a job for these workers, it’s a lifestyle and that’s just on a regular day when you add the risk of COVID19 I can’t imagine the stress that comes along with that,” said Jessy. “They are the bravest people in the world, so throwing some wraps and burgers together for them is the least I could do. I wish I could do this everyday.”
Jessy and his team have also provided 130 meals to The Ottawa Hospital General Campus Emergency and ICU departments and 100 meals to the Ottawa Montfort Hospital staff.
He says his restaurant is able to provide meals to frontline staff in Ottawa through the generous donations from the community in Orleans.
“We are so grateful to Meatheads Grill for their generosity and for lifting the spirits of our staff today,” said Marc Provost, Executive Director at The Ottawa Booth Centre. “It really meant a lot.”
