This Salvation Army 2019 Festival of Carols at Meridian at Centrepointe Theatre is an annual celebration of the Christmas season and of this very generous community through song and brass music. The concert also includes audience sing-alongs to some traditional Christmas Carols.
This year’s shows featured performances by the Festival Brass Band and the Festival Corus along with the Children’s Festival Corus in the matinee show. The concert also featured trombone player Bram Dean and vocalist Alison Boudreau. Rick Szabo gave a reading from “A Christmas Carol” and Deana Zelinsky gave The Christmas Message of Hope.
Chaplain Louis the head chef at The Salvation Army Ottawa Booth Centre was presented with a certificate and a personalized chef coat for his 26 years of service, serving 3 meals a day, 365 days a year, for a total of 8.2 million meals in addition to community holiday meals. Accepting on his behalf was Executive Ottawa Booth Centre Director Marc Provost.
