This summer, The Salvation Army Barrhaven Community Church ran the ROAR Vacation Bible School program with the help of The Salvation Army’s Camp at Home team. Five young adults from across Canada came together to help lead this amazing day camp program for children ages 6 to 12 years old. They were helped by a team of enthusiastic volunteers from the Barrhaven Church.
Through this program children learned that God is good even when life is scary, unfair, changing, sad or good. God is good all the time and the 25 children who came to spend the week with us know that now. The lessons were taught through games, songs, videos, crafts and interactive lessons, which helped to reinforce these life-changing lessons.
Throughout the week, the children took field trips to a local park/splash pad, the community pool, and (the highlight of the week) the farm at the Canada Agriculture Museum.
We had a great week together and we are looking forward to having more fun next summer.
