The Salvation Army continues to serve those affected by Friday’s tornadoes in Dunrobin and in the Arlington Woods and Craig Henry neighbourhoods of Ottawa.
Our Emergency Disaster Services teams are focusing their efforts on feeding those whose homes were affected the most, as well as emergency responders and hydro workers.
Hot meals are being served at Manorvale Park on Knoxdale and in Dunrobin for local residents.
Over the weekend our EDS team was also present in the Barrhaven neighbourhood along with a number of other businesses and organizations to offer hot meals and snacks to those without power.
The Salvation Army is so grateful to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to support their neighbours around the city with everything from donating goods, helping with meals, clean up, repairs, knocking on doors to offer help and supporting those with mobility issues and seniors in need.
To help during this time of crises please donate to The Salvation Army at www.salvationarmy.ca/donate
In addition to providing meals we will be supporting individuals and families with vouchers for our thrift store for clothing, furniture and household items.
If you would like to make in kind donations please donate to one of our 8 thrift stores around the city. Please visit www.thriftstore.ca or call 613-247-1435 for furniture pick up.
